The following article is only presenting the accusations against a former Youtuber. This article is not intended to establish guilt, nor innocence.
Former YouTuber, Sam Pepper, originally started YouTube in 2010 and has amassed 2 million subscribers. Sam’s Channel was built around “pranks”, though popular at the time, is generally looked down upon amongst other YouTubers.
Sam’s first controversial video was called, “Fake Hand Ass Pinch Prank”, which he was seen grabbing many women’s butts and despite the video being labeled a “prank”, the women looked genuinely caught off guard.
Following the video, Sam’s video faced instant backlash. One of his most outspoken critics was former YouTuber Laci Green. Sam later said that the video was made to shine a light on male sexual assault victims. According to Sam, he felt uncomfortable with females touching his butt.
He talked about how women are protected and how men aren’t able to ask for help. He also discussed the suicide rates, when it comes to men, being higher. That was the point of the video, according to him.
Not only was this explanation not well received, but many women came forward with their own accusations. They allege that Sam had sexually assaulted them, including beauty influencer, Marina Joyce, in a now deleted video.
Despite the multiple allegations, Sam has repeatedly denied them. In 2016, he unlisted all of his videos, apologized, and tried to rebrand a few times. While this was better received, Sam ended his YouTube career and has now moved onto TikTok, to which he has 3.6 million followers as of this writing.
This is concerning Because the allegations never stopped, even after he stopped uploading to YouTube. Now that he’s moved onto TikTok, it’s likely this new generation has never heard of him, thus not knowing of his allegations.
As of right now, there is still no evidence, only allegations. But the audience he is currently trying to appeal to deserve to know about these accusations so they can be protected, should they be proven factual.
